Cardowan Community Meadow.

First established in 2019 a group of volunteers came together when it was proposed for more housing development on the last piece of greenspace within the community of Cardowan which was rejected October 2021.

We aim to strive for a better healthier wellbeing for the future of our community. Also with the prospect of creating better access to local facilities and resources within our community. Get involved with us on our socials

A charity group ran by a core group of four ordinary mums up against the proposal of Miller homes wanting to build more houses on our communities last field, we put foot to ground and took the proposal of Miller homes and knocked on every residents door in cardowan and took every Signature of every resident that wanted to keep their last piece of greenspace to Miller homes and North lanarkshire council to say we wanted to keep our last remaining field. North lanarkshire coucil didn’t want any part in what we were trying to achieve so went to the Scottish government and after countless hours and the support of 468 signatures from in our community the building proposal later was rejected.
