Cloudberry Communities CIC  are delighted that our project to employ seasonal rangers in our local green corridors  has received support from the @NatureScot #GreenRecovery #BetterPlacesFund;  @GreenerScotland @ScotGov

 

These posts are offered on a self emplyed basis and will run until end of October 2022.  The recruitment process will be overseen by NCCV HR officers and to apply please send a copy of your up to date CV along with a cover letter 2 pages max explaining  why you are interested in the role and what skills you are able to bring to make the project a success.

Job Description - Visitor and Volunteer Engagement Officer Pay rate £15 per hour

Cardowan - 7 hours per week self employed contract 

Moodiesburn Glen - 7 Hours per week self employed contract 

Bluebell Dell and Crowwood - 7 Hours per week self employed contract 

The Moodiesburn Glen, Bluebell Dell and Cardowan Woodlands in the Northern Corridor border the 7 lochs wetland park and form part of that projects ambitions to develop the walking and cycling network through the provision of green fingers, active travel and biodiversity corridors that link into the park.

All three areas are unmanaged at present due to local authority and Forestry Scotland cost pressures. These beautiful woodlands which bring so much wellness to visitors and local communities alike, have the future potential to attract many more visitors and through ongoing work on the ground, managing vegetation, underfoot conditions and improving signage and publicity can provide active travel routes into the park itself. A major problem in the areas is anti social behavior with fires being lit, bottles smashed, litter being left and other behaviours which are damaging both to wildlife, visitors and the local community

The post is primarily visitor management focused and will support our work managing visitor related pressures and ensuring all visitors to the woodlands have a fantastic experience. We are looking for candidates who can demonstrate the following:

• Excellent communication interpersonal skills

• A positive and flexible attitude.

• Experience of visitor and volunteer management or work in a customer focused role.

• Knowledge of and interest in the environment and countryside issues, local issues, local heritage, local biodiversity and the specific woodlands themselves

- Experience of dealing with antisocial behaviours

Job Description and Person Specification - ASB and Clean up Officer  15 Hours per week self employed contract  Pay rate £15 per hour

Working across all local woodland sites you will be confident in working alone or with volunteers in an outdoor setting.  You should have a good knowledge of health and safety and manual handing.

A clean driving licence and the ability to tow a trailer are essential for this role as is local knowledge of hot spots for anti social behaviour, the post holder will be expected to work closely with local authority officers and the community police team.

You will undertake clean up operations as directed by the team at NCCV and the Visitor and Volunteer Engagement Officers and patrols of known hotspot areas for ASB.
