Draft Plan

First three Months - March to June 2018

Following initial planning stages the following outline plan was agreed, Kristopher Hogg and Claire Williams will work on this as 'Temporary Organisers' a couple of days a week each plus volunteer action days.

Update - in order to apply for funding we need to constitute the group ASAP - this means electing officers - these positions will be reviewed at the first AGM in July.

April 2018

  • Form Constituted Group, elect four officers into positions until July 2018 and sign constitution - Check
  • Open Bank Account - Check

We also need to begin the nomination process for the steering committee, nominations for the steering committee and for officers from July 2018 can be submitted at any time up until 22 June 2018 . Each area listed in the constitution has its own position on the committee, therefore 16 positions are available.

  • Volunteer Week - Action Earth Project Funding - begin work on tree nursery
  • Adopt a station project Gartcosh
  • Publish Results of Community Survey
  • Recruit Press Officer- Comms Assistant - Twitter Team -Handyman/Tool care person
  • Call for nominations for Steering Committee
  • July 2018

    • AGM and First Steering Group Meeting - Lead volunteers to be part of democratic steering committee will be elected by online vote.
      Local Lead Volunteers for each area - to take over midweek event workload and maintain small quantity of local equipment which will be purchased with any initial community funding
    • Sunday Volunteering - building, fun and educational events - insect houses/ fairy trail/ bat box building/Gartcosh Station
    • Wednesday Volunteering - tool care event - wildflower seed collection

    August 2018

    • Sunday Volunteering - Begin Pathwork/non native species removal as Regular Sunday Volunteering - extent dependent on Greggs/Paths for all funding
    • Begin Wednesday Tree Care - removing tree tubes from Scots Pine in Chryston High School Grounds + 1 @ Gartcosh Station (planters)

    September 2018

    • Dependent on outcome of VAF funding application - begin regular Monday and Wednesday workdays at tree nursery
    • Sunday Volunteering - Continue with Path work and non native species removal
    • South Area - Continue on Wednesdays with tree care events 5.30 - 6.30 - Chryston High School + 1 @ Gartcosh Station (planters)

    October 2018

    • Sunday Volunteering - Continue with Path work and non native species removal
    • South Area - Continue on Wednesdays with tree care events 5.30 - 6.30 - Chryston High School - removing Scots Pine to more suitable location + 1 @ Gartcosh Station Wildflower seeds

    November 2018

    • Sunday Volunteering - Continue with Path work and non native species removal inc1 @ Gartcosh Station
    • South Area - Continue on Wednesdays with tree care events 3.30 - 4.30 - Chryston High School -

    December 2018

    • Sunday Volunteering - Continue with Path work and non native species removal also can start transplanting dormant trees
    • South Area - Continue on Wednesdays with tree care events 4.00 - 5.30 - Chryston High School - moving Oaks to new site at school

    January 2019

    • Sunday Volunteering - transplanting dormant trees to local villages and Dry stone walling events
    • Cross Locality Midweek events - indoors only - planning - funding - education- capacity building-- times and days can vary to suit

    February 2019

    • Sunday Volunteering - transplanting dormant trees and litter picks if snow has gone
    • South Area - Continue on Wednesdays with tree care events 3.30 - 4.30 - Chryston High School -

    March 2019

    • Sunday Volunteering - Litter picks plus full action day Gartcosh Station
